Heron Technology Corporation (HTC) is a developer of healthcare application software modules that operate in the open systems environments of UNIX and Linux. This approach is more flexible and less expensive than the historical single-vendor / proprietary approach. Middleware also provides for the data transfer / communication between healthcare facilities, which would typically be using different IT systems from a variety of vendors.
