Karima's Art

Born in southearn France to an American mom and a canadian dad, I grew up experiencing a variety of different landscapes, architecture, climates, cultures, people and art! All of them have inspired my drawing and painting, full of light and colour. I studied in French schools, completing high school in 2012 in London, Ontario, Canada. Having developed skills in acrylic, my high-school art program gave me an opportunity to have mentors who specialize in oil and water colour. Next came a diploma in Fine Arts from Centennial College in Toronto with vacation time in Senegal Africa and Spain visiting my family and getting new inspiration for my art. With travel in my blood, I took my skills to Australia and worked as a nanny. I painted every spare minute to complete commissions and prepare for a solo exhibition. I was tempted by an artist-in-residency program in Malaysia so I went there to continue creating and learn batik (textile painting) on the side.
